Finding the solution is so simple for this question. just google it, you can find plenty of online tutorials and help sites.

But many of them give you lot of technical stuff. Some tips may not be understand properly. So people just postpone their things to do for their joomla website.

Many guides and joomla videos available on net to secure your joomla website. More over if we spend some money, there are people to fix security issues for you.

I am just helping you with few tips to secure your joomla website. But you may find many more on the net.

Anyhow here i am telling you few tips that can secure your joomla websites. You can be happy and relax.

All you need to do is, first change your dynamic url in to static url’s like the following

Dynamic url structure:

http://www.yourdomainname.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=55

make it as :

http://www.yourdomainname.com/about-us.html

it is simple.

First Step:

First go to your website file manager and locate the htaccess.txt which comes along with joomla instalattion.

may be you may have another .htaccess file there in public_html (if you are installing joomla in public_html directory)

Delete the existing .htaccess file after finding the htaccess.txt in the same directory

After deleting .htaccess file now you rename “htaccess.txt” to “.htaccess” , this task is completed.

Go to your website joomla administrator by logging to http://www.yourdomainname.com/administrator

Click on “site” navigation menu and go to “global Configuration”

Change the settings for “SEO Settings” to “Yes” (for all 3 radio buttons)

Now save the changes.

If you check your website now, you can find the url structure in to static one like about-us.html, contact.html and so on….

Second Step:

Login to your website FTP and go to public_html folder

find the folder named “libraries” –> Joomla –>document –>html –>render –> head.php

in head.php remove the line no: 83 (find the code bellow)

$strHtml .= $tab.’<meta name=”generator” content=”‘.$document->getGenerator().’” />’.$lnEnd;

Now save the file. Its done.

Very Imp:

The most important thing to be remember. Do not FTP or upload files which affected with malware or adware. if you upload an image or a word document which affected, it is going to generate and inject the “Iframes” or something like that for every file in your joomla installation.

I found many people, just uploading the files without scanning it. Once the website is down and showing some errors, they feel the site was hacked. But its not hacked, its affected with virus. which causes to generate “malicious code” in index.php and index.html files in entire joomla installed files.

Hope these tips can help you a lot. I did it. Many of mine and my client sites are good and running fine.

Another important TIP:

If you are not using any joomla module or component, just uninstall it. Save all your components and modules in your computer for future installation, which you have downloaded from various component developers and module developers.
